The subconscious level of the mind is nothing but thought patterns superimposed upon one another—patterns upon patterns upon patterns. These patterns influence the analytical sector of the mind, which in turn expresses itself through the physical body via its five senses: seeing, touching, smelling, hearing, and tasting.
To truly love yourself is to be integrated within yourself, and by being integrated within yourself, you find that Divinity there. And when you become one with that Divinity, then you do not love that Divinity, but you become that Divinity, which is you.
Consciousness is one’s spiritual Self. That is pure consciousness that requires no support whatsoever from anything exterior to itself. That pure consciousness is a faculty, if you would like to use that word, that experiences itself, by itself, for itself. In other words, pure consciousness is.
When Jesus went around and saw suffering, he wept. In the case of Jesus, it was not the ego that wept. When you and I weep, we might be weeping because our egos are hurt in some way or the other. In the case of Jesus, the very quality of that consciousness is love and compassion....
