We are delighted to share that Gururaj Ananda Point in Limassol, Cyprus, has recently been upgraded with the installation of a protective perimeter fence, making this beautiful and spiritually significant location safer and more accessible for everyone who wishes to visit.
The new fencing has been carefully installed around the rocky shoreline to help prevent accidental falls onto the sea rocks below, allowing visitors to spend time at the site with greater peace of mind while preserving its natural beauty.
This special place marks the site where Avatar Gururaj Ananda Yogi stayed during his 1987 visit to Cyprus. Although the original apartments have since been replaced by the Harmony Bay Hotel, the location’s spiritual significance has never diminished. In 2026, the site was officially dedicated as Gururaj Ananda Point, with the installation of a commemorative plaque honouring Gururaj’s visit and the extraordinary coincidence of Supernova 1987A, whose light reached Earth during that same historic period.
The inauguration itself was filled with remarkable moments. Following a group meditation beside the sea, several crows repeatedly circled overhead, their unmistakable calls creating an atmosphere that many present felt symbolised guardianship over the sacred site. As aerial footage was being filmed, the crows even flew alongside the drone, almost as though protecting the place that Gururaj had blessed nearly four decades earlier.
Another touching moment came when one of our meditators shared that, only weeks before the inauguration, she had been inexplicably drawn to meditate on the very rock where the commemorative plaque would later be placed. She experienced such profound peace there that she and her husband decided to extend their stay by another day. Only afterwards did she discover the spiritual significance of the location.
Today, visitors can sit quietly overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, reflect on Gururaj’s visit, meditate in silence, or simply enjoy the peaceful atmosphere surrounding this unique coastal landmark. The new safety improvements ensure that future generations will be able to experience this place with greater confidence while respecting its natural environment.
