On 1st December 2024, I will have been a FISU meditator for forty-eight years. Why, may you ask? The answer is that these simple, profound techniques have transformed my life.

In 1976, I was a twenty-year-old student struggling to cope with the pressures of work, study and relationships. I lacked confidence and found it difficult to assert myself. Within three weeks of regular meditation, I had truly found myself. Quite spontaneously, I became the confident, assertive, energetic person I was meant to be, involving myself in groups and activities and seeming to be a magnet for amazing opportunities. The same life was now joyful instead of stressful.

My career in education was demanding and full of diverse challenges. I’m eternally grateful to have been taught these dynamic meditation techniques, as they have given me the focus, energy, humour and creativity to deal with all that life brings. I have definitely become more patient, compassionate and insightful. To be a FISU meditator is to live life joyfully- feeling loved and supported always- feeling the exhilaration of surfing life’s waves instead of floundering in them. It’s so simple to do.
