We gathered in Limassol for a truly special inauguration day—one rich in symbolism even before the proceedings began. The location, now named Gururaj Ananda Point, marks the site of Gururaj’s visit in 1987. The Harmony Bay Hotel has since replaced the original apartments where he stayed—how fitting that such a meaningful place now bears the name “Harmony.” Just behind the hotel, adjoining the main road, rises a striking skyscraper named The Icon. The symbolism couldn’t be more apparent.
Our gathering began in the hotel’s poolside restaurant, where we enjoyed morning coffee together before moving into a group meditation. Beneath the generous shade on this gloriously sunny (and slightly breezy) day, we sat in stillness and unity.
During the meditation, a crow’s call echoed through the air—three distinct caws, as if saying, “I am here.” The large coastal trees nearby are known to be nesting places for crows, but we could not have anticipated what was to come. These mysterious birds made their presence known most unexpectedly and powerfully, almost as if declaring themselves guardians of this sacred ground.
After our meditation, we made our way to a quiet spot beside the small pier, where we had chosen to install a commemorative plaque honoring Gururaj’s visit and the rare appearance of Supernova 1987A during his stay on Monday, February 23rd, 1987.
As we arrived, meditator Maria Demetriou from Nicosia shared a remarkable story. Just a few weeks earlier, unaware of the site’s significance, she and her husband had visited the hotel. Maria had been drawn to meditate on the very rock where the plaque was now to be placed. She experienced such profound peace that they decided to extend their stay another night. This is another beautiful coincidence—or perhaps a divine confirmation—that Gururaj’s energy continues to bless this place.
Even the shape of the stone on which the plaque was mounted mirrored the outline of the island of Cyprus. But the wonders of the day didn’t stop there.
Once the plaque was secured, Rajesh blessed everyone present. We then prepared to launch a drone to capture and share the experience, but it seems the crows had other ideas.
As the drone lifted into the air, the crows began to attack it, circling and diving as if to say, “This is sacred space. We are its protectors.” Despite the heat, sun, and wind posing a challenge for the small drone, we captured a glimpse of the crows in flight. You can even see a wing sweep past the camera in one moment—a striking reminder of their guardianship.

In the footage, the sea gently laps around a central rock, and—remarkably—the waves form delicate heart shapes. It was as if nature was joining the celebration, tugging at our heartstrings with sacred beauty.
The plaque was crafted with loving care using durable materials designed to withstand the elements—the sun, the salt, the wind, and the years to come.
Now, let us turn to the cosmic significance of Supernova 1987A, and why this celestial event is forever woven into the sacred memory of this place and moment.
A Star Explodes, A Light is Transferred: The Spiritual Echo of Supernova 1987A
On February 23, 1987, the universe lit up with a rare celestial event—the explosion of a star in the Large Magellanic Cloud, known as Supernova 1987A. It was the brightest supernova visible from Earth in nearly four centuries. It’s light, having traveled for 168,000 years across space, finally reached our planet on that exact day.
But something equally luminous was happening in Earth’s quiet and deeply sacred space.
Today, I was with my spiritual master, Avatar Gururaj Ananda Yogi. Unbeknownst to us then, the light from a dying star was arriving as Gururaj prepared to pass me the subtle yet profound transmission of shakti—the spiritual power of awakening and transformation. It was a period of deep connection, intention, and sacred trust.
Only later did we come to learn of the cosmic alignment. The synchronicity was striking.
“In spiritual understanding, nothing is ever truly separate. We are not just made of stardust but aligned with the stars in purpose and essence.”
Events in the outer universe can mirror those within the universe of the heart. As a star released its final burst of energy to seed creation anew, a lineage of inner light and consciousness was passed from guru to disciple. One event lit the sky. The other, the soul.
This wasn’t a coincidence—it was convergence. The supernova marked an ending, but more importantly, a beginning: the birth of new stars, the fertilization of space with heavy elements, and the quiet rise of a new light-bearer on Earth, entrusted with guiding others toward spiritual unfoldment.
The light of Supernova 1987A may have arrived from a distant galaxy. Still, its arrival was perfectly timed to witness something far more intimate and eternal—the blossoming of spiritual intention, human receptivity, and divine transmission.
We are each connected to the greater fabric of existence, where time and space fold into moments of grace. Sometimes, the universe itself pauses to affirm the sacred; when it does, a star may explode to bear witness.
